Contribute to Our Watershed's Future

Your donation to the WREN Center directly promotes research, education and conservation efforts in the Laurel River Watershed of Madison County, North Carolina.

Why Your Support Matters

Promote Environmental Education

We believe that what people understand, they will protect. Your donation helps us create engaging, hands-on learning experiences for local schools, university students, and community members about the ecological wonders in their backyard.

$500 provides materials for a full semester of field workshops for local Madison County students

Expand Scientific Research

The All Taxa Biodiversity Inventory (ATBI) is an ambitious endeavor to document every species in our watershed. Your support funds our specialized "twigs" (Taxonomic Working Groups) led by expert researchers who conduct field surveys throughout the year.

$1,500 sponsors a taxonomic expert to conduct a comprehensive survey of their specialty group (fungi, insects, plants, etc.)

Conserve Biodiversity

The Laurel River Watershed faces threats from climate change, invasive species, logging, and development. Your contribution supports our conservation efforts and helps us collaborate with landowners and partners to safeguard this precious ecosystem.

$2,000 funds a conservation project to address specific watershed challenges
